In the box is a DB (Era IV) tankcar in Liqui Moly livery. The rendered image on the box suggests the tank is white…
… but it’s grey!
A set of single buffer beams is supplied.
First impression: this thing is big!
I’ll do a size comparison with the well-known LGB Harz passenger coach later in this review.
A brakeman’s platform on one end.
The other side looks boring.
The platform and railing on the roof.
The lid on the right can be opened to fill the tank.
“Liqui Moly” is a sticker. I’m wondering how long it will last, and if the colors won’t fade away too quickly in the sun.
Plastic wheels, unfortunately. The wheels are 35mm, not the standard 30mm!
As promised, here’s a comparison with an HSB passenger coach from LGB. This should give you an idea of its size.
Although not very detailed, the tank car looks good. The possibility to fill the tank with fluids is great, but I wonder how the tank can be emptied. Similar LGB tank cars feature a tap on the side, which this one doesn’t have. All in all, a rake of ten of these tank cars would look mighty! You know you want it.
