This is an old review, and will be updated to the current review format and standards soon.

TrainLine released their first steel bridges at the beginning of 2010. At the moment (December 2010), there are four different bridges available:

  • 7010000: Steel bridge 45cm – €57,95 (UVP 2012)
  • 7010001: Steel bridge 90cm – €87,95 (UVP 2012)
  • 7010002: Steel bridge 120cm – €119,95 (UVP 2012)
  • 7020000: Arched bridge 90cm – €142,95 (UVP 2012)

I got the 120cm steel bridge, and I was surprised by the weight of the bridge when I picked it up for the first time. The design is a bit simple, but that’s a matter of taste. The black paint looks great, but be careful because I already damaged the paint a little bit, which lead to rust at the particular spot a few days later.

Verdict:

The design is quite simplistic, but it’s a nice bridge. My advice is to use it on straights only, as the bridge is not very wide. If you have a 120cm straight track on the bridge, followed by curves on each side, you will most likely be in trouble with overhang from longer passenger coaches or even locomotives.
