Decoding PIKO G Scale Article Numbers

PIKO G products are identified by a five-digit article number.

First digit:
3 = G-scale Locomotives, coaches, freight cars, track, track accessories, parts
6 = G-scale Building kits

Second digit:
7 = European prototype rolling stock
8 = American prototype rolling stock

Third digit (locomotives):
2 = Steam locomotives
3 = Railbusses, triebwagen
4 = Electric locomotives
5 = Diesel locomotives

Third digit (cars):
6 = Passenger coaches (4 axles)
7 = Freight cars
8 = “MainLine series”
9 = Passenger coaches (2 axles)

Fourth digit: This digit refers to a specific product. For example:
37540 = Harz BR199
37560 = BR204

Fifth digit: This digit indicates new paint schemes from existing molds. For example:
37520 = V60 (red) from 2009
37521 = V60 (blue – white) from 2010
37522 = V60 (blue) from 2011
